Green Pastures and Quiet Waters

By Mo Mydlo

Do I have any busy people in the house? I have finally accepted the fact that I am a busy person. I can fit a lot of things into a 24 hour period. Between the ministry, the farm, family time and chores, I am moving most of the time.

Every once in a while, I get caught up on things and realize I have a calendar that shows two days in a row with nothing highlighted and underlined. Then, what is the first thing I do? Ask Tommy, “Am I forgetting something?” I almost panic that I missed writing something down.

Am I the only one?

I think we are generally a society of busyness and we can run and run and turn around and forget how to sit still.

Thank God that we follow a Good Shepherd that leads us to green pastures and quiet waters. We simply have to remember to obey and sit.

Sit and pray.

Sit and listen (listen for God’s voice, His comforting love, His peace).

Sit and dream. Dream of new adventures with our King!

Sit and plan. Plan holidays and get togethers and places to meet to share the gospel.

Sit and look. Look at the sky, enjoy cloud formations. Look to the hills; look to the sun. Look to the moon.

Sit and look.

Yes, when life gives you a second to breath sometimes. Just thank The Good Shepherd that He gives us green pastures and quiet waters, and sit!
